Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is a behavior management training program designed to provide safe and secure behavioral intervention. It is a respectful, non-invasive method to defuse escalating behavior and safely manage physically aggressive behavior. The approach emphasizes prevention and teaches educators how to de-escalate potentially disruptive or violent situations.
Participants who complete CPI training are certified for one year by the International CPI Association.
The CPI Blended experience starts with participants completing the online portion of the workshop, which introduces them to the basic concepts of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
During the online portion, participants are encouraged to take notes and apply concepts to their current jobs. Modules encourage note taking and challenge them to consider their own workplace realities and apply to content.
Approximately 2 hours is required for online modules, 4 hours classroom setting review and physicals, in person attendance required.
Important: The online portion of the workshop must be completed prior to participating in the classroom session. Participants are encouraged to bring their notes from the online course completion to the classroom portion of the workshop. Completion of the online course, and full participation in the review and physicals training are required to pass. A link will be sent to registered participants for the online portion. Access to a device and high speed internet is required.
