This course is designed as a workshop series with five class sessions to help school staff gain the skills needed to plan, create, and maintain a school garden. The workshop is intended for cross grade level groups of teachers and staff. The course content will tie practical application in a garden to science instruction in the classroom and food to the cafeteria. Each course session will focus on a particular garden subject and provide time for participants to meet with their school team to plan their instruction and their garden. Participants should be committed to planning and implementing a school garden.
Participants are encouraged (but not required) to attend as part of a building team.
Individual teachers may also attend. Teams can be created with other class participants.
